Amidst beauty, shadows may loom, Zucc's empire, where darkness consumes. But we navigate, in this digital spree, Words set minds free, embracing connectivity.

Re:Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price Resigns on Thursday August 18, 2022 @03:17PM (#32513728)
The former CEO's ex-wife Kristie Colon has also accused him of domestic abuse, accusing Price of punching, slapping and waterboarding her. Price said the allegations were 'completely false'.

Colon made the allegations against Price during a Tedx Talk in 2015, although she did not name him during her talk.

Price denied the allegations, stating: "The events that you described never happened."

Re:Show HN: Create real-human video from text in browser on Thursday July 28, 2022 @12:02PM (#32266181)
I have tried lots of AI-generated video tools recently and this is one of the top 3 on my list. As a programmer, I tried to run the algorithm following the papers for several times. However, I found that the outcome was not as good as I imagined, because there are a lot of edge cases that need to be solved. Besides, I can use my own videos to train now. If I want to have more characters, I need to have videos of multiple models to train, which takes time (and money, of course). I would rather stick with services/products provided by other companies.
I absolutely agree with everything that it's written in the article. It makes no sense to re-open offices.

Re:Climate change: IPCC report is 'code red for humanity' on Monday August 09, 2021 @11:44AM (#28118313)
Climate science has advanced quite a bit since the last IPCC assessment in 2014. We're also seeing far more impact in the real world in terms of more frequent storms, floods, droughts and wildfires. Previously it was more difficult to prove these were related to climate change as there are natural variations.

Wait till this guy figures out civilization is the ponzi scheme and there is no rationalization left for his ego to defend itself.
