Show HN: Sigh* Taco Bell MCP

https://github.com/amittallapragada/taco-bell-mcp

The title says it all. Was learning more about mcp and thought this would be a fun project to share! I built an mcp server that lets you find taco bell locations near you and get the menu items for a particular location. I will probably try to add ordering items for delivery as another feature down the line. Live Mas!

Show HN: Compare what your current rent gets you in other cities

https://rentcheckr.app/

I built a tool to compare your apartment’s rent against your zip code's average and see what that same budget buys you in other U.S. cities. The current version uses 2023 US Census Data (the 2024 one seems incomplete). While the data is a bit dated, it still provides interesting benchmarks for relative cost-of-living comparisons. I’m currently looking into integrating real-time rental forecast...

it definitely is, but I use it at work and find it to be pretty readable. Since I was asking gpt to write most of it I wanted it to be in a framework I could easily understand and work in as well.

I am seeing a lot of cool feature ideas on this thread which is amazing! I just made the repo public if anyone wants to look at the json or put in a PR with some edits :) https://github.com/amittallapragada/animal-bodyfat-calculato...

If it helps, I’m not storing any user data. There’s no backend or database, the app just looks up values in a static json. Just copied the ui code from chatgpt and put it into a react app. The only thing I’m tracking is page views!

Show HN: Which Animal Shares Your Body Fat Percentage?

https://animalbodyfatmatch.netlify.app/

I recently came across a youtube video about animals and their average body fat percentages.I thought it would be fun to compare my body fat to different animals and see which one I most resemble. This idea spiraled into a two-hour project, where I turned the data from the video into a JSON file, asked chatgpt to help create a UI, and deployed the whole thing on netlify. Pretty cool how fast we...

Ask HN: What’s the point of StartEngine?

I have noticed that companies like StartEngine have been receiving a lot of attention recently. Why do founders today find the StartEngine approach to funding their startup better than the traditional VC route? Do they offer resources that traditional VCs don’t?

Re:Ask HN: What apps do you use for API development? on Monday November 08, 2021 @07:37PM (#29156261)
Oh nice! Have u had any experience with a no code tool to generate an open api compliant endpoint given some database call? I’ve been trying to find something that would help reduce the amount of time I spend writing boilerplate code

Ask HN: What apps do you use for API development?

I’ve been a developer at a couple large companies and have noticed that a lot of my job has just been creating/exposing apis to various different organizations throughout the company. I feel like a lot of the api development process could be automated. Does anyone else feel this way? I’m also curious to know if there any existing solutions to this in the market
