The real problem is that there are too many useless fights with trash mobs. Removing most of them and keeping only the challenging and memorable ones would be a better thing.

Another option is an option to switch between real-time with pause and turn-based at will. The Pathfinder games do that.

Saudia Arabia also gets the red carpet treatment, so sadly I'm afraid the situation will not get solved thanks to worldwide outrage.

But there's a caveat: you lose the book cover in the process. I think Amazon does that intentionally.
Having multiple middle names is common in France. It doesn't mean that all French do it, though.
Re:Ask HN: What's one book that changed your life? on Monday May 28, 2018 @09:19PM (#17175757)
>But the most shocking thing about that book is that it was written in 1952.

Corporate greed and advertisement is quite old, though.

>A suicide rate that is one of the highest among industrialized nations.

Please stop saying that. Japan's suicide rate is on the decline and not that high.

What about fake photos?
That's a really creepy design.

Most adult rapes are unreported too. Doesn't meant it doesn't happen.
Re:Why I left Japan after 10 years on Wednesday July 19, 2017 @08:19PM (#14809116)
The last photo of the post features a girl giving the finger towards the camera. The author of the blog should know that taking a picture of someone without their consent is considered as quite rude in Japan.

What about the learning curve, though?

Same issue in France. How is that even allowed? It's almost similar to ticket scalping.
Re:America Needs Small Apartment Buildings on Friday March 31, 2017 @06:37PM (#14009001)
I didn't know traditional houses over a hundred years old existed in this country. The sole exception that have witnessed are western style building in Hakodate, however they are anything but traditional.

More importantly, when you speak about these throwable houses, are you sure that is a "desirable feature"?

Re:We should kill the 40-hour work week on Friday March 03, 2017 @03:05AM (#13781433)
Aren't suicide rates among modern farmers among the higher. Long working hours and low wages because of the demanding market.

Re:How Do You Know a Developer Is Doing a Good Job? on Tuesday February 14, 2017 @02:45AM (#13641948)
You need a manager doing a good job to answer that question. But then a new question arises...

Occam's razor, I agree. I've heard several times these kind of stories.
Re:Ask HN: Which book have you re-read recently? on Sunday February 05, 2017 @05:38AM (#13571763)
Feels the opposite too me. It shows it's been written in the 80's. Would "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel." make sense to young people nowadays?

Funny, the same thing happened to my brother too.
