Does it have Accelerated GPU and iServices support?
I avoiding older 10gbe NICs due to power consumption. Maybe that's why?
Thunderbolt 3 had a fiber option for longer runs, but I don't see it for Tbolt4.

Great article but i wish they mentioned that the APU wasn't in the AR glasses but in the magic leap's Compute Pack
I loved Aperture!

Truck drivers do that in the US. I do that in my car, too. Sometimes it's too dark to see the handwave out the back window.

HDMI-CEC is great for TVs but when I searched recently I found that both Nvidia and AMD do not support HDMI-CEC. This was disappointing to find out when I built an HTPC for my TV.
When will they raise prices?
> developers began noticing something: Kite had quietly injected promotional content and data-tracking functionality into open-source apps the company previously had no affiliation with. The discoveries of those injections, and Kite’s initial refusal to roll them back, led to backlash from programmers who felt the company’s actions undermined the open-source community.

You have a lot more options on lenses and do stuff like background blurring with Bokeh. Some smaller meeting services also provide 4k support.
Re:EVGA terminates Nvidia partnership [video] on Friday September 16, 2022 @06:05PM (#32872600)
I have an evga PSU made by SeaSonic and they have others made by FSP. I wouldn't say their PSU OEMs are "just some random Chinese PSUs"
Re:USB-C hubs and my slow descent into madness (2021) on Monday April 04, 2022 @05:30PM (#30912169)
I agree - Thunderbolt is the way to go. It's typically 2 - 3x the price of a USB-C dock, but it's well worth it for me.

I have the TBT3-UDV and caldigit TS4 TBolt dock. They both rely on DC power supplies and higher quality components (intel NIC, for example). Both have been very stable over the last year for the TS4 and 3 yrs for the TBT3.

> I appear to be paying a lot of money for products that I could buy for cheap on random websites is starting to piss me off a bit at this point.

The last 5+ years as an Amazon customer have me feeling this way.

> Realtek RTL8153

Could the Realtek issues be related to power?

I have a Tbolt dock which is powered using a DC barrel jack (6.5amps @ 20V). The comparison is not great as the dock (TBT3-UDZ) is not a USB C dock and uses the Intel i211 nic.

The author appears to have found stability with the Anker PowerExpand 8-in-1, which has the buck converter with power management components.

I've had terrible experiences with the Satechi Multiport Adapter V2 and ICY BOX USB-C type adapters.

I suspect that the issues can typically narrow down with any dock to bandwidth or power.

Do they support hotplugging? afaik traditional floppies do and could be essential to workflows if you can avoid the costly reboot time.
Now I understand. There are two ways of dimming a screen. One is dimming the backlights in the display while the other is faking it via Gamma table alteration
That's unfortunate. I've been hoping to simplify my HT setup and eARC was something I wanted to target in an upgrade
How does Lunar and Monitor Control get around the Tbolt -> HDMI dongle baked into the logic board problem?
So what did you find out? Does DHL deliver to DPRK?
Re:Facebook-owned sites were down on Monday October 04, 2021 @04:08PM (#28751428)
My guess is that the FB backend also required DNS. The .Onion site isn't backed by a backend built on a onion native stack (is that a thing?)
Re:Ipv6excuses.com (2016) on Tuesday September 21, 2021 @11:59PM (#28612986)
Is there an advantage to use my ISPs tunnel vs another tunnel? I have an open case inquiring about IPv6 and can ask them via that ticket. But if there isn't a benefit from using an ISPs tunnel then I'd rather just save them the work.
Re:Ipv6excuses.com (2016) on Tuesday September 21, 2021 @01:38AM (#28602320)
How can I publicly shame my ISP into providing IPv6? I have symmetrical 1gbps fiber but the lack of IPv6 is laughable.

I love everything about them (Race Communications) but this is something that really gets under my skin.

No comments here is interesting. Massive day for Snowflake and I'm excited. Fewer companies using Oracle products thanks to them.
