While mostly true, there is definitely such thing as advice fatigue and generally easy for our brains to conflate advice and criticism which can be detrimental in large doses from my experience. Not to say that it's bad to receive advice/criticism but it has to be ideally in the right dose and with the right intention.
This is great! I saw someone advertising a paid version on instagram with similar kind of effects and thought to myself, why are camera filters paid?
Anyways, interesting to see the trend towards "retro"-ifying pictures taken by Cameras to make them look more "real" maybe? It's almost like phone cameras getting too good has made pictures lose their character.
Hey! This was a great read with lots of cool examples and writing. Thanks
I always wondered why Splitwise is the go-to when it's a huge pile of crap app with stupid paid features for such a simple concept.
Now why and how the f-- do you own stwipe.com ?
While I empathize a lot with the issue of agents building super generic "vibe-coded" UIs, the webpage linked from the Github provides a Showcase with presets in the style of Notion, Vercel, Linear etc. which just change the color / theme not the actual design to match that of these companies which I thought was the point of the design skills?
I'm glad to hear people share this sentiment. I think the human quality will be part of what people will start to enjoy more about music now that AI has improved so much in terms of it's ability to produce highly polished songs.
I find it strange the websites some of these HN articles are hosted on... going through the effort to write a post before getting a domain outside of .vercel.app is interesting.
Yeah I find this article hilarious. Especially since maybe less than 1 in 10 visitors will actually want to share the article? So 1 in 476 is actually pretty decent usage.
Haha I love the super out of touch takes on here sometimes. Not using WhatsApp or Facebook where I live absolutely introduces major difficulty to communication and even every day interactions where almost 100% of communication in various social groups is happening on these platforms. Should I ask them to move?
Maybe I am misunderstanding but I feel like
https://www.jan.ai/ is similar and works great for me
hard agree, there's already "voice ai" companies that use the normal models and have this "interaction" engine on top of them to produce better results than I've seen in these demos. idk why people are impressed
Have you tried this task using an actual OCR model like Google Cloud Vision AI? I am not sure if this is what Gemini uses under the hood but multi-modal LLMs are not designed to extract text like this so it should be no surprise it's not good at it?
I'd argue a good use of vibeslop -- a non security critical, fun, UI-centric data presentation website, don't be so cynical :)
Super impressive for a solo project! How does this compare to capacities.io ?
Something being harder and attributing value to that makes no sense. Sure a big moat is important for value but "difficult to do" is just a unidimensional angle.
Yeah I also don't quite understand the example on the homepage... they agreed to 50/50 and then she wanted 70/30 so now they settle on 60/40? Like this doesn't seem like a "fair" mediation it's kind of weird (obviously oversimplifying the situation a bit but nonetheless I'm not sure real world conflicts are this simple in practice)

Hey, I was an early adopter of the Cursor IDE and pretty much installed it day 1 of it's public release. Like many I've been using LLMs to help accelerate the writing of code in my own company and side projects and have been quite optimistic and satisfied with the quality and experience of using the Cursor IDE chat -> composer -> agents to enhance the developer experience.However,...
