HN Admistration stated that they don't allow posting these type of topics from regular accounts as they bring karma disbalance. And they don't see such a value in this topic to make submission created by the "whoishiring" account bot.
Thanks, you gave me some food for thought

Ask HN: Need an advice – continue with the project or open source the code?

Hi Guys,I need your advice. Some time ago I built myself a boomarking webapp. It wasn't feature rich. Just something which helps to save a link from my phone and open it on my laptop later. The problem for me where solved.Later I saw the pocket app came out, read a post about pinboard.in and I though, if people actually paying for these services, I could add some features to my app and release...

Show HN: My WordPress mobile menu plugin, really nice one.

Hi guys, I want to show you my WordPress plugin and possibly get some feedback.URL: http://griffinthemes.comI didn't like mobile menus in modern responsive web designs. They are either an unusable <select> element or a cropped menu with a ugly jerking animation. Once I saw an article on codrops with a off-canvas navigation menu which I really liked. I recreated that idea from scratch to...

We are expecting our first baby in a couple of months too. So, no real experience here but I want to share some info that I gathered from different sources, in case it might be helpful.

If the baby cries at night and don't want to eat its a sign to look for another reasons. There's non obvious one: gases in the tummy. They appear because of an adrenalin which baby got with the milk. If mother is angry/stressed an adrenalin goes into her blood and then into milk. The baby eats, his tummy filles with gases, he cries, mother wakes up stressed and so on... The way to get out of this loop is to decrease the amount of stress for the mother. I know it's hard, because of harmones rage in her blood but you need to be a psychologist here and try to calm he down.

Like they say, keep calm and carry on. It should get better in few weeks.

Show HN: Bookmarklet to open HN pages with HN mobile app.

Hi everyone. I made a bookamrklet to solve a little annoyance that I think bothers some of you too. When people post a link to a HN post and you follow it in a mobile browser there's no easy way to load the opened page in the HN mobile app. So I made this little bookmarklet that does just that - opens current HN page in HN mobile web app made by Lim Chee Aun...

Re:Ask HN: Were you disappointed with the Apple conference? on Wednesday October 05, 2011 @06:32AM (#3075035)
Although I missed Steve, Siri and the new camera really impressed me.
I'm thinking of a platform to build a reliable offshore dev teams. Are those offshore developers freelancers or it's a team that work only on your (or maybe one or two more clients') projects?

Re:Ask HN: Who's using bzr for version control? on Tuesday May 31, 2011 @07:21AM (#2602124)
Because there is no GitHub for bzr. I think git gained it's popularity mainly because of GitHub and Launchpad is just not good enough.

P.S. Let me know if somebody's going to build a "BzrHub".

Re:Ask HN: Would you pay for a Twitter client web app? on Thursday May 19, 2011 @10:46AM (#2564054)
Yeah, twitter experience could be really painful sometimes. That's why I asked is it worth to work on the problem. But I didn't know that twitter guys answered the question few months ago in their TOS.
Re:Ask HN: which mattress for best sleep? on Thursday May 19, 2011 @06:18AM (#2563468)
You should try them out. When I bought myself one I lay for a couple of minutes on each of 4 models to see if it's comfy for me.

But don't buy too soft mattress. It could seem really cool at first time but your back will hurt like hell next morning. Beside it's more healthy to sleep on a hard mattress.

Anyway all of mattresses I saw are two sided. One side is little softer then other. Test the harder side at the store (it should be comfy for you) and if after several nights your back will hurt - flip to the soft side. You need to sleep a several nights on the mattress as your back needs a time to get used to it.

Re:Ask HN: Would you pay for a Twitter client web app? on Thursday May 19, 2011 @05:54AM (#2563426)
No, thanks for pointing out. I didn't know they put it into TOS. At the time I read about it, it was more in a form of advice.
Re:Ask HN: Would you pay for a Twitter client web app? on Thursday May 19, 2011 @05:22AM (#2563374)
Thanks for reply. I think I'm going to implement this project sometime for myself anyway. And maybe release it to public. I thinking of some project to start to work on and one of the ideas was this twitter client and another one is a project management app (which is hard to market).

Ask HN: Would you pay for a Twitter client web app?

I'm in the design process of a Twitter app. Basically its a twitter client ( yeah, another one ) that arranges you tweets timeline in a different way then all the other apps do. I know that the creators of twitter don't recommend to work on the apps that somehow improve the presentation of the tweets. They told that this is their goal ( to improve user experience ) and there is a possibility...

Re:Ask HN: Review out site and desktop app - EasyMail on Friday April 22, 2011 @05:35PM (#2475501)
I think none of our customers use ISP's smtp servers to send their mailings. ISPs often set limits for their mail servers. Most of the users have websites, so they use their own smtp servers. Easymail won't hurt deliverability rates at all because it uses the same technology as MailChimp or CampaignMonitor ( including the DomainKey and DKIM ) but it's a standalone desktop application.

The main disadvantage though is that you need your PC to stay running all the time when you send a campaign.

Ask HN: Review out site and desktop app - EasyMail

Many of you run some kind of businesses and have email lists of your customers. What would make you leave the Mailchimp, CampaignMonitor, etc. and use our desktop product for your email campaigns? The main benefit of it -- a one-time payment.URL: http://www.glocksoft.com/easymail/What do you think about the site and software? Do you think it has a potential in the world of web apps?

Ask HN: Do you need another single-sign-on/social login service?

My friend asked me for help to build an affordable Janrain alternative. He creates a non-profit website and Janrain's $100/month is a way too much to pay from his own pocket. My question: do you use any of such services and/or see any value in them?I personally think that they create more problems than they solve.1st – they just don’t work. Usually, after login with Janrain or Gigya, site...
