How about opening the link before commenting? The second sentence is "I AM AN EMT".
Re:Apple's smart home camera reportedly won't record video on Thursday October 01, 2026 @09:01PM (#49928791)
Sadly in current year, whenever tech companies say they aren't going to do something that means they are going to do it in two different ways and try to hide them both.
That's what happens when you live in a company, not a country.
IMO it is their FULL responsibility to create an internet just for humans before they go full scale autonomy here with agents that are indistinguishable from humans to most actual humans. It is very dangerous there will be no safe place to obtain information you can just trust. For example, the recent earthquakes in Indonesia. I was scared to share that information with others because it looked like it could be AI and was only being shared by small accounts.
I was driving my mom's brand new Mercedes suv on a family road trip (for perspective I have a 2006 diesel van with 300k+ miles on it). Absolutely hated the thing. The worst was I was causing on the highway atb74mph and that auto adjust crap slowed ke down to 30mph! On the highway! Not sure if it was a service bug or what but kinda terrifying.
It is a tricky situation isn't it? We wouldn't have gotten where we are without fossil fuels, but now we realize they are not sustainable to be dependent on and we cannot continue this level of growth. I don't think it is actually possible using current means to power what we have come to know as a "first-world lifestyle" for the majority of the planet.
We got the first real-life Spiderman villain before GTA VI
Apple is a marketing company now, not an innovative tech company. They will wait until model progress is not moving in such quick progressive strides then create a new flagship product by rebadging [top model] to match their aesthetic and increase the price 3x.
I wonder what a similar study will look like for those who enjoy competitive online gaming into their old age. If the microplastics do not get to our brain first, of course.
Re:Everything old is new again: memory optimization on Friday March 27, 2026 @07:51AM (#47541573)
Speaking about optimization, is Windows just too far gone at this point? It is comical the amount of resources it uses at "idle".

A lot more bad logic will get by the smell test when you have 1 staff member vibe-coding. And just wait until he is held to that level of zero-test, lowest hanging fruit productivity as being "normal".
"a single staff engineer with experience and a trusty LLM is similarly productive as a team of 2-4 junior engineers"

I think we are SEVERELY underestimating the amount of slop that is going to come from this.

Waymo is using public roads 25/7 for automating profit and not paying fair taxes.

"Free". The worst four-letter F word in America.

Large problem with social media ad targeting recommendations. They are completely unweighted.

What you think you are targeting : 'business owners researching startups and investing'.

And somehow your ads get pushed to 'people with interest in dogs' when you go with the recommendations.

Also I will never give up my ICE vehicle back home, which is a 20 year old diesel that has 270,000 miles on the clock. I am an original hacker/tinkerer and absolutely despise the tech and guardrails included in ALL modern cars but ESPECIALLY the EVs.
I am in Bangkok right now and while there is public transportation at every corner the air quality is still super low. I took this post as the rich are falling out of love with LUXURY cars. I got passed by a Lamborghini today while walking the streets and said to my friend, while everyone else was busy trying to snap pictures, that I would only be impressed if he could do his own oil change.

I expect $tatus $ymbols to continue falling out of favor and be replaced by self sufficiency. Rich are also falling out of love with alcohol and falling in love with fitness. This is good for everyone.

Food for thought, someone who struggles to fit a gym routine into their life is not someone who knows how to train their muscles efficiently. Thanks for the article, Australia.

Make AI. Choose next path :

(1) herculean effort to make it confirm to what they have established as politically correct.

(2) improve AI.

The majority of us will be long dead before then, even moreso if your random sci-fi pill is released into the wild ( never would be ).
Re:What causes Alzheimer's? Scientists are rethinking the answer on Saturday December 10, 2022 @09:08PM (#33939296)
The only thing that is humorous and disheartening is that your outlook is shared by the majority and for this, we are fucked. The inability of large corporations to best what is available to EVERY PERSON, for FREE, is a BLESSING. All these companies do is add layers of complexity or outright push a worse product and rely on changing public opinion or how info is perceived for sales. This is capitalism's kiss of death. Their goal is not healing, their goal is removal of symptoms where you will be held in perpetual subsistence. And we should never let that be forgotten.

On a macro level if you want to improve your health : Less processed foods, less synthetic materials, less pharmaceuticals, less time sitting and indoors. Less alcohol, less weed, Less involvement from these "professionals" all across the board. Less, less, less. Wow, isn't that weird?

For those who will comment for arguments sake, I would rather you provide examples of the sitting President promoting overall good health practices (read: FREE) rather than his usual gaslighting the public into taking an untested pharmaceutical product.

They have a chance to improve things here, but they will just recreate the same dystopic work environment. They need bodies not change.
