Using SARS-CoV-2 Reference Genome to Align Outbreak Sequencing Data
So it seems prudent to reiterate that the only causes for social disruption & need to prep would be to have unjustified panic and run at stores like the behavior seen in Italy.
Lucid is a scientific desktop tool for genomic sequencing data. It's part of a larger toolset used for sequence alignment, variant calling, and annotation. Pretty much inspired by Sublime Text, for sequence alignment maps (sam files).
Looking for someone to fix some bugs and refactor where necessary. If you have fun working on this, the larger toolset is in C++ and uses Caffe2, so you can try your hand at that once this work is completed.
If you are nearby and want to meet up, or faraway and want to chat just hop into the discord channel.

Those guys did an awesome job because: a) use of brownian motion b) sick af music.
To detect cancer we turned genomes into images and put them through DCNNs
Genomics it's good stuff. We made some tools that are better than what academics/gov/big companies make.
Desktop applications, not web or "cloud"-- b/c you make video games and movies with desktop applications, so maybe when lives depend on it skip the web browser.
Anyways you'll get paid market-rate and get to work with fun technologies.
