Maybe also prohibit legislation that protects excess/longterm promises too? Promises are cheap enforcement of promises cost money too.
Re:Every AI model has the same "controversial" take on humans on Thursday October 22, 2026 @11:10PM (#50204066)

This argument keeps getting rehashed. The point is not the signal. The point is where/how the signal travels which in the human is affect by much more than whatever concept that can be represented by words.

I tried supasidebar for like a week, then used helium for month. In the past month I've settled on search with vimium: https://officecommun.com/search
A lot = most?

I agree with "alot", but i doubt most "hate". Hate is a strong word/emotion that gets thrown around easily for sensationalist or propaganda purposes. Is this an "appeal to hate" argument?

Most people have more going on in their lives than to have chance to hate abstract things.

For most people AI are search results in "human" speech presentation. Or slightly more sophisticated customer service bot. Or the latest form of personalized clipart generator for their group chats.

For most people experiencing AI is not (yet) beyond the experience clash of going from nokia 3310 to a multicamera, ig/fb/doomscroll filled iPhone. Are they seeing much more "slop" in their doomscroll than in 2021? I'd argue not. Social media has been filled with low quality engagement triggering slop way before chatgpt.

Obviously no amount of training will make AI human but: how is this different from you being the leader of a team whose output you own and are accountable for?

This has been tried in many latam countries in the past 15-20years with Inflation expectations getting out of control as result

You have to measure and compare the interdependence then aim for interdependence be balanced. Or you're back to where we are.
> In the country where they live

When people outsource everything this is what happens

Re:ASML says it sold 'absolutely nothing' in Europe in 2026 on Saturday September 26, 2026 @10:58PM (#49862935)
Why deflecting from the implicit question? Why is european ASML incapable of finding fellow european buyers - among 27 strong nations and 500M people?
> You don't have to be exclusively one race to be a unique country

You don't. You also dont have to NOT be a homogenous country to be a unique country. Or you dont event have to be unique to be a country.

Bhutan doesn't get as much flack for strict migration policies.

And ironically, not Japan.
Re:Breaking Up with Google Play: Why Conversations Is Now Free on Saturday September 26, 2026 @02:36PM (#49859235)
If different words exists why insist in making "creative" use of the wrong word?

Your local monopoly of water provider charges a fee not a tax (although many collect taxes on behalf of the state that sanctions the monopoly)

Platform apps stores tend to be a monopoly (specially in iOS case) and that decreases incentive to provide a decent service/product to their customers who hate that fact - not because customer have no representation.

I never submitted an app to play store but knowing how Google handles app customers (or any customer of their services/products) its believable that app devs are shafted too. I personally wonder if there's any differentiated service level between an app that results in revenue for Google vs one that is 100% free. I'd be pissed if my 15% fee is not buying me priority over the latest adware filled flashlight app

Im sorry for you. It must be hard to detach yourself with a fixation. I also cant help but spend my attention spotting where the magician is hiding the coin instead of trying to enjoy the show

> If you can't spend the time to write it, why should anyone read it?

Most people in these threads repeat this question. As if pre-ai all writing was from deep thinkers full of genuine intention.

Re:Ask HN: How to recover Google auth after phone stolen? on Thursday September 17, 2026 @11:16PM (#49749835)
True.. but now you have more devices to have to secure against attacks...

Edit: this "feature" did save me when my home hosted vaultwarden died due to hdd failure.

Re:A warning about 'model welfare' on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @07:46PM (#49734602)
Surely it is a sign of societal decadence that the idea of "ai" welfare/rights is even being entertained anywhere outside of fiction or standup comedy
Re:Bending Spoons buying Miro for $1.355B on Thursday September 10, 2026 @03:55PM (#49649383)
I'm curious that every time BS buys up some we hear about all the criticism of them and never the funding/management model thay has powered saas for the past 15-20years.

Its not like they are making high payout in the purchases. They are snatching assets off weak hands (management, investors) who has no interest or idea on how to make their operations work.

GTD, lifehacking, quantified self... all coolness of the 2000s biting us hard now
Is it a fact that when these devices come the process to unlock will remain the same?
Re:OpenAI fought dirty on career-making math problem on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @07:44PM (#49618753)
I for one am excited to see the return of secret and hermetical societies to counter this idea of information scrapping
I assume there's a financial cost for doing this? I assume gold reserves in others coffers act as collateral so having them at home makes them a lot less useful financially useful?

Works for me. Is this a geo-restriction?
This has always been an option pre-AI (block MS, block Google, etc). They never done that before why would they do that now?
> repeatedly broke in to a room

> rotated his MAC address

Do you really think these details drastically change how people should judge his actions vs those of a corporation?

Re:Norway Should Buy OpenAI on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @07:49PM (#49354592)
Where you happen to be born is the only criteria for population diversity?
> EDIT: and another thing! human interaction here focuses entirely on the living and the related. Why? Human connection can span all of humanity. And it should

You don't think society has mostly trended towards "everyone but those nearest to us"? You dont think solitude is related to this? Or antisocial behavior and opinions?
