Re:What Meta Got Right with Muse on Saturday October 03, 2026 @06:57PM (#49948585)
It’s the most consistent and user friendly agent with the ability to also be a harness for multiple custom agents. I literally had people running around the office amazed by muse last week. It has brought agents to the masses in a way a lay person can understand and use.

Interestingly, Gupta didn’t reply at all, despite being named on bill’s original email directly. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/people/anoop/ He was natural-user-interface director at the time

Re:Windows CE Dreamcast Community Edition (wince-dc) on Saturday July 04, 2026 @01:40PM (#48787234)
I actually love this because the entire time I owned a Dreamcast I used to look at the windows CE logo on the front and think, does it have windows CE in ROM? How can I boot it?
This is the key, streaming content providers delete and edit things to match the feeling of society at the moment or perceived societal pressures. Really not how history should work imho
Why would I want to hack the bootloader for a wall charger? Asking for a friend
They did not require permits at the time as they were portable Think transport trailer sized. If you use portable power for under 365 days a year, an epa permit was not required. They changed the rules on permitting after and xAI complied
Re:DOS Memory Management on Tuesday March 03, 2026 @06:49AM (#47231066)
We did special boot disks to strip out everything but what was needed for the game, but sometimes we still couldn’t make it One day I went to a friends house and he had like way more conventional memory in memtest! What the hell I spent hours and days getting 620kb

He was running Dr -dos

There’s little value in software and no value in annual recurring subscriptions to people. If you solve a large enough problem that a person can use to make themselves money, then you can become an overhead cost of doing business. My household has zero recurring subscriptions now.

Two things jump out at me also 1. The first thing I see is “it’s free”. Then further down the page buy credits. I really don’t want to buy credits in your walled garden that I don’t understand yet. But what the heck I’ll try, next click my only option is to continue with google. Nah I’m not looking to login to a completely unknown product with my google account credentials.

It feels painful on top of I don’t know what I’m buying or why I’d buy it. It’s a canva clone? Or ?

My grandfather built that railway in a supervisor capacity in Labrador. My dad was born in sept illes because of it. It was once very important but now a footnote. It moved iron ore in the 60s / 70s

Re:Geocities Backgrounds on Wednesday July 23, 2025 @08:02AM (#44658248)
Geocities was pretty darn cool. My very first website was there but just figuring the place out, the neighborhoods and the depth of the place was like a new adventure at the time. I chose area51
As much as Bloomberg used to be a great business resource, it seems a bit bias now and the paywall is super annoying. However I’d still consider it a legitimate source.

I can say from my supply chain experience, which I can’t really disclose, other than to say it’s substantial in my world, I directly negotiate purchases from Asia (various regions) of between $25 million to $75 million per year.

If those statements are in conflict with my various NDAs then it was a typo.

Moving on, since the tariffs have hit, the deals I’ve negotiated have had substantial pre tariff discounts. For example, a widget that used to cost me $219k before tariff now costs me $159k plus tariff.

My takeaway is yes, consumers are going to pay more as the post tariff price is higher than the pre tariff price. BUT the suppliers are taking haircuts, and they are getting more aggressive with eachother. The Chinese government doesn’t want to directly say they are going to further subsidize production costs in China due to American tariffs, but some of this is happening and may accelerate as demand further drops. Just my humble opinion.

So basically compressing the pay scale even further …
Google killed Google. They should not have decided to become evil. Search can easily be removed, G Suite should be separate too.
Re:What's new with Postgres at Microsoft, 2025 edition on Monday May 05, 2025 @09:10PM (#43900946)
There is absolutely nothing in this article that interests me or seems innovative. If this all disappears tomorrow no one will notice.

Worked perfectly paired with a bb.

Re:When Flat Rate Movers Won't Answer Your Calls on Saturday May 03, 2025 @09:07PM (#43883652)
Many jurisdictions have doubled their small claims max in the past decade. It’s worth looking into.

Well if you got paid from the insurer then , in fact no one still owes you anything. That’s how that works.

Re:The US has approved CRISPR pigs for food on Saturday May 03, 2025 @12:42PM (#43880266)
I wish more people understood how much of what they consume is radiated at some point…
Re:The US has approved CRISPR pigs for food on Saturday May 03, 2025 @12:41PM (#43880256)
Because CRISPR isn’t nearly that precise or exact, it always has unforeseen random fall off effects. Also, who says that particular receptor ONLY prevents entry of a specific virus? It surely has other purposes that aren’t understood.
Re:The US has approved CRISPR pigs for food on Saturday May 03, 2025 @12:40PM (#43880243)
Oh man, this is bad. How many studies do we have some the consumption of CRISPR anything by humans ?

Re:The Miscalculations of Covid School Closures on Friday May 02, 2025 @08:35AM (#43868937)
It’s ok to make mistakes. It’s the lack of critical thinking which was the problem here and made the outcome so much worse. Who saw evidence that masks were effective? Who tracked COVID infections verses school shut downs? Who forced vaccines on children instead of understanding their natural immunity?

This feels like it was a bigger exercise in control.

This is nuts. Why make such a complicated system with another fault point?
Google workspace is awful , it’s super dooper awful with Gemini shoved up my ass all the time , which is impossible to disable, and trains on all my data. Gsuite makes office look good !!
