Which aspects of this one do you prefer over USWDS?

No demo link?
Re:Isobuild – Interactive isometric design tool on Monday March 23, 2020 @03:48PM (#22667979)
This is awesome. I don't have any experience with other isometric design tools, but this one is intuitive and easy to use. A demo video would be cool as one comment suggested.
Re:Travelling with 24” Monitors on Sunday March 01, 2020 @02:00PM (#22458482)
I also tried a 55" UHD and found it too big. I scaled down to a 49" on a rolling tv stand and it's perfect for me. I have some distance between myself and the screen though. ~6"

I really wish there was a way for me to travel with this setup :/

I enjoyed this. A quick read and a message I needed to hear today. Thanks!
Re:Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams on Thursday August 29, 2019 @03:06PM (#20832579)
Not currently, but I can add it. Can you shoot me an email about it so we can discuss your use case? I want to make sure any changes I make work for you. duet [at] 23andwalnut.com
Re:Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams on Thursday August 29, 2019 @02:33PM (#20832316)
Duet can definitely do this. It's self hosted though- http://duetapp.com

Let me know what you think (I'm the developer)

Re:Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams on Thursday August 29, 2019 @11:28AM (#20830344)
Thanks! Yes, an API is extremely high on my priority list. Zapier as well. Let me know what kinds of endpoints/actions you'd need from the API so I can make sure they are included. What integrations would you like to see?
Re:Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams on Thursday August 29, 2019 @10:12AM (#20829640)
I built a self hosted alternative to trello, basecamp, etc - http://duetapp.com

I wonder if it's suitable for your use case? And if not, what I'd need to add for it to be something you'd use

Re:Show HN: Code Line Daily on Tuesday August 27, 2019 @08:40AM (#20808919)
I like the concept. It would be cool if you could choose the language you were interested in, and receive daily updates. It would also be cool if the lines were a little more complex rather than just function names or css selectors
Re:Ask HN: Looking for an Alternative to Jira on Tuesday August 27, 2019 @05:55AM (#20807849)
A self hosted option I developed - http://duetapp.com

Actively working on it now, so if there are any specific features you need, definitely let me know so I can add them

Looks great! You've offered several simple descriptions in these comments that don't appear to be on the site. It would be good if you included some of this language on the landing page so the purpose is immediately obvious...
Navigating the site on desktop is really hard. There should really be a horizontal scrollbar because I accidentally keep clicking when I'm trying to scroll. Or just don't use horizontal scrolling on desktop, which would be my preference...

Besides the scrolling issue, it looks really good.

The <pre> blocks overflow the container on the fancy view (Chrome/Windows 10).

Other than that, looks great!

Ask HN: What are some of the best ways to self-host software?

I make and sell a few self-hosted web applications and I'm looking for additional options to provide my customers for self hosting. The application requires a LAMP stack, and generally installation is pretty simple, but some users still struggle. Those of you that self-host, what methods are you using to deploy your apps? Do you have any tips that I can use to ease installation for my...

Re:Show HN: Kyoko – Manage anxiety with a simple tool on Sunday October 21, 2018 @12:15AM (#18266702)
The landing page really needs some indication of what this is and how it works. The about link does not provide much context at all...
Just curious, is the decision to keep everything vegan tied to the 5 minute requirement?
Re:Show HN: Stop using sticky notes to remember stuff on Monday May 21, 2018 @02:55PM (#17120782)
The "see it in action" button really needs to be more prominent. Or the video itself should be the focus of the landing page rather than the Gumroad widget...
Re:Asana’s Rise to a $900M Valuation on Monday March 12, 2018 @10:58AM (#16568543)
Curious about what ended up working for you? What project management app are you using now?
Looks really well done. Have you considered a developer's license so people can build it into their apps?

How difficult would it be to make this work with google calendar?

Re:Show HN: Online resume builder by Applicantio on Monday April 17, 2017 @11:43PM (#14136288)
Looks good. Very clean design. It took me a couple of seconds to see the menu at the top of the builder though (about, contact, experience, etc)
Looks good. How do you decide which products end up in the trending + hot lists?
Re:Show HN: Smart CSS viewer tailored for Designers on Thursday December 22, 2016 @03:34PM (#13240152)
It's well designed. It would be nice if the export functionality generated a css file with typography + colors.
Re:Show HN: Notes. Simple flexible unix-y note taking on Thursday December 01, 2016 @04:08PM (#13083522)
This looks incredible. Very excited to try it out.
Re:Boards in Asana on Thursday November 17, 2016 @02:28PM (#12980601)
You can do this in Duet (http://duetapp.com), but it's self-hosted. Pretty sure Flow also lets you switch back and forth between boards/lists. Have to imagine a bunch of other apps have it too.
Re:Surface Book – It’s Easy to Switch from Mac to Surface on Wednesday November 02, 2016 @02:56PM (#12858081)
I think they are just pointing out the MBP has a lower screen resolution...they aren't comparing it to the 'lower screen'/touchbar. See here: http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/

The main screen of the MBP does in fact have a resolution 227 pixels per inch

Re:My Self-Hosted Life on Monday October 10, 2016 @06:04PM (#12680109)

  I never said that.
The implication in your original comment is quite clear, "why don't you let experts do what they do and you spend your time doing what you do?". So, you actually did say that...

But to suggest that everyone should do (or will do it, as some people are commenting here) it is bananas.
The comment you replied to didn't suggest that everyone should self host, it simply stated a preference. Your comment, however, was the exact opposite, and suggested people shouldn't self host "unless they do servers"
Re:My Self-Hosted Life on Monday October 10, 2016 @05:34PM (#12679931)
He's saying his goal is controlling his data, not necessarily 100% uptime, so even if the site ends up going down, he still retained control of his data, and therefore did not fail on the metric that is actually important to him.
Re:My Self-Hosted Life on Monday October 10, 2016 @05:01PM (#12679756)
Lots of people home school their kids, grow their own produce, and kill their own cows. One doesn't need to do everything themselves to want to do some things themselves. And if your premise is that one needs to be an expert, before doing anything on their own, then how would people learn? How do people become experts?
