Been involved with LLMs for the past 2 years, and what I can say is we have no idea what the technology can do, and we have no way of monitoring when it gains new abilities. We're racing towards autonomous everything, and we're too slow and blind to even detect hidden exponential developments.
Here's a good overview to get up to speed: https://youtu.be/xoVJKj8lcNQ
I guess anything supported by the screen recording API (tabs, windows, *screens*)
i think it does contain code
next.js + trpc + pocketbase
leanest stack i've played with in the past 3 years
Ranting about Nix being hard is like going to Russia and complaining that the local language doesn't sound English. Like many other things worth your time, it's something you learn through deliberate practice and focus.
It's for the best, you can use them as names for your own stuff.

Identity and time (the process of remembering the past and projecting the future) are two core ideological viruses that shaped humanity, but that's all they are - ideas we've been thought to model the world around with. Intentional thinking is a completely different game.

If writing text more than 4 hours / day is what you do for a living, and you have at least 10 more years left of doing that, not learning Vim is just lazy. Vim gives you back enough time to think about what you're writing.
Also, if you go cold turkey, you'll be productive in less than a month, and arrive at a good workflow that fits you in less than six months, flow that you will improve over the years in amazing ways.
Carbon is awesome, works offline, and can be integrated with any decent editor, so you can just select code and press a keybind to get the image on your clipboard.

Yes, in order to do X you need to learn how to do X. Complaining about not being able to program when you didn't spend a minimal amount of energy to understand the basics of how your computer works is worthless, just like this article.
Same, about 3 hours into it, no bugs other than a floating car on the sidewalk.
Thank you for creating V, you're amazing. There's not many people that could do what you did - both from a technical perspective and from a mental perspective. I feel like you get a lot of hate from jealous haters that can't even fathom having the required mental energy to keep going at such a hard problem, for such a long time, keeping the flame alive. Fuck'em, keep rocking!

Security CTFs (capture the flag) are competitions where people race against eachother to find "flags" by hacking web apps, reverse engineering, breaking weak crypto, doing crazy OSINT.They're fun, and they everyone you learn a lot from different fields (fx. CAN, recovering keystrokes from a keyboard's captured traffic, CSS exfiltration, etc). You'll also meet a lot of smart people and maybe...
Congrats, clean design! I'll try it.
Its not a framework though, it's at most a library :)
I find "banning" perfectly fine words, that everyone understands, because they offend some people / are used by some to offend people, utterly stupid. And it goes beyond words, such as what happened with VSCode's Santa Hat flamewar.
We are incredibly lucky to be a part of this miracle called life. We don't have much time here. It doesn't need to have a purpose, but if you do choose to have a purpose in life, it shouldn't be coming up with ways of "getting offended".
It makes sense to get offended by someone, but to get offended by this-month's-offending-word is a waste.
It's very sad that companies listen to and are afraid of the swarms of internet flamers that have nothing better to do with their time.

ripgrep + fzf in vim are a big win, in a nv-alt-like workflow and always a keyboard shortcut away
Crashing on NixOS with "libsecret-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file".
Thank you for Caddy, it has saved me a lot of time and it's a joy to work with. Running it on about 8 boxes.
Is there an admin UI for v2? Seeing the configuration changes, it was the first idea that popped, would be great for the selfhosted community - maybe someone picks it up as a side project if it's not in scope.
Clearly, as all the comments you've ever posted say. If you're going to manipulate HN to drive traffic to your product, at least do it the smart way.
There are tools that require a big time investment to learn, and Nix is one of them. It much more "pragmatically usable" than other OSes once you learn all the bits and pieces. It's kind of like Vim. But yes, it's quite frustrating at start that you can't do seemingly simple stuff with ease.
Isn't Theia based on Monaco as well?
Well, the ice is melting anyway.
