Re:Jev: New frontier model 40-400x cheaper and 20-200x faster on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @10:26PM (#49721441)
Wow, this is really cool. If this holds up to scrutiny, and has a decent context window (+16k), it suddenly changes our project's status from "cool concept, too slow and expensive to release" to "doable", just like that.

Just joined the waitlist, excited to try it out!

There's absolutely no pixel art anywhere in the entirety of the map.

While I agree, I can't help but wonder: if such a "super search engine" were to have the knowledge on how to solve individual steps of problems, how different would that be from an "intelligent" thing? I mean that, instead of "searching" for the next line of code, it searches for the next solution or implementation detail, then using it as the query that eventually leads to code.
What is this? How does one report such a comment?
Got it in 28 moves. It's quite interesting how your brain seemingly goes from "that's impossible" to finding an "algorithm" to it.
Generating embeddings is relatively simple with a model and Python code. There's plenty of them on HuggingFace, along with code examples.

all-MiniLM-L6-v2 is a really (if not the most) popular one (albeit not SotA), with 384 dimensions: https://huggingface.co/sentence-transformers/all-MiniLM-L6-v...

If you actually take time to go and read through them, you can see that the writing pattern is clearly different to that of ChatGPT, contrary to the recent ones:

- "[...] Certainly here is a vast and important project for research."

Versus:

- "Certainly! Here is the text with spaces added after each word:"

Re:Did YouTube just update it's UI? on Thursday February 22, 2024 @02:41PM (#39471998)
Opened a video and, to my surprise, the layout is weird/different. The video information is to the right of the player. Tried an incognito window to confirm that it wasn't just a random extension messing with it: No account, normal, "old" layout. Logged into my account, graced with this aberration. Can't find news about it anywhere. What's going on?
