Because they are fucking cool.
I started one. Well. Am starting one. It’s hasn’t “officially” launched yet.
It’s about lost golf balls that I find around my neighborhood. (I rent in a subdivision surrounded by , I think five golf courses). I take pictures of where I find them. Give them a little description and write a little story about them sometimes.
My daughter loves it.
I was able to drag details out of HR, and I would have some significant grounds for a discrimination suit.
Agreed. That’s kind of why I’m not super invested in fighting it.
That’s literally the option I was presented. Thankfully since, it’s a State government organization, I have “time”. But the more I reflect, and the more feedback I get here here, I may go this route.
There is things in my head that whoever is going to take over will need to know. Nothing crazy, but a LOT of stuff. I may look into this.

I was offered a resignation today in my role with a State Government organization. Should I fight it?The facts:
1. The role is 5 hours away. I was commuting on a weekly basis to the office, every Tue-Thur and did 10 hours a day on site.
2. I was remote on Mondays, and off on Fridays.
3. I was still in my state-mandated probation of 1 year.
4. There has not been a documented issue. IE: there...
Excel worksheet, with columns for all of that. Because I, like my users, want to do everything the stupidest way fucking possible, and ensure that something gets horribly fucked up along the way.

On February 21, 2024, UnitedHealth Group identified a suspected nation-state associated cybersecurity threat actor had gained access to some of the Change Healthcare information technology systems," the company wrote. "Immediately upon detection of this outside threat, the Company proactively isolated the impacted systems from other connecting systems in the interest of protecting our partners and patients, to contain, assess and remediate the incident."
This is how a website should look. It provides information. As others have said, it has a clean, customizable look, and (imo) content that you won’t find anywhere else.
The brilliance is the simplicity. You don’t get ads every other article. You get information.
Look at a ‘man’ page. It delivers information in an easy to read, text format.
We have had so much CSS, JS, pop-ups, pop-unders, and invasive click-tracking shoved down our collective throats that “surfing” the web is not an enjoyable experience anymore. It’s a damn chore.
There is an undercurrent of simplicity in the design of web-pages that I personally am starting to more often. If you look at links posted here by highly technical people or *nix power users, it’s a bare-bones blog or site.
For example:

Autonomy. I like to work on an island. I have my tasks/objectives, I work with a team but I don’t need /want to be micromanaged.
Ensure your managers aren’t micromanagers.
An open door policy. A real one, where your employees can come to you and feel valued and heard. You may not always agree or be able to do what they want, but be an active listener.
Promote from within. If you have a team running for 6 months without a manager do you even need one?
I have always, except in one instance, changed employers due to management.
A little disjointed, but you get the idea. Sorry. On mobile.
Find a problem. Develop a solution. Sell the solution.
If you have a good solution or a good product, people will pay. There’s always a problem to be solved.
What’s the link to a demo/idea/GitHub repo?
Left slide to reschedule.
Right slide to cancel.
Pull down for new event.
Try to incorporate NLP. “Meet Dave tomorrow for coffee.” Translates correctly.
Access to contacts. Ability to set favorite contacts. I meet with my team almost daily. Give me the ability make them my most Favorites.
Instant meet via Google Meet that gets added to my calendar.
I’ve seen Gandi (sp?) suggested a few times.
Cloudron as an image. I run mine on Linode. Takes ~10-15 min for the image to deploy, a couple of “hours “ for DNS to update. All you really need is a domain.
Extremely well documented. https://www.cloudron.io/
Morse code trainer? Do you have a link? Thanks!
I’m in the process of culling/updating mine: codetaco.xyz
Time
Life
Newsweek
The Economist
Nature
Popular Mechanics
That’s off the top of my head.
OP here. I should clarify. I’m an American citizen, I just am wondering if this archived/accessible somewhere.

Lychee or Pixelfed. On mobile so I don’t have links handy but a quick DDG search should turn them up.
I just got into mine as well.
