I notice you said "almost impossible". Do you (or anyone else) know how to get it reversed?

OP here:

Thank you for the radical candor everyone (I greatly appreciate it)!

While I'm humbled by the warnings, I'm also inspired by the encouragement.

Consulting, quality assurance, and security bounties are all related to my passion, but as I've clarified in other comments: investigating and fixing known bugs is the niche I'd like to aim for, regardless of the non-technical challenges in procuring such work.

I haven't, but as mentioned in other comments, my passion is in investigating and fixing known bugs (not finding unknown ones).

I have, but (as mentioned in another comment), my passion lies with investigating and fixing known bugs (not so much finding the unknowns).

I am familiar with the concepts, but I'd classify that as more about putting measures in place to prevent bugs from being deployed, rather than identifying and fixing their root causes.

Thanks for the suggestion. While I am interested in security (and value its importance), my passion lies with finding and fixing known bugs, not finding unknown bugs.

Ask HN: Can one be self-employed fixing bugs?

By far my favourite software development task is to fix bugs.Investigating, documenting, and fixing the root cause of a nasty bug has the ability to keep me in a mental state of flow for a full working day (and probably more).Thus far in my career I’ve been employed, but I’d like to give self-employment a try. I’m not looking to create the next unicorn, just earn enough to become financially...

Ask HN: What is your optimal strategy for migrating a legacy system?

Let's consider the following hypothetical situation...You've started at a SAAS business that has been operating profitably for five years.As you get exposed to more of the source code, infrastructure, processes, etc., the more technical debt you discover (lack of separation of concerns, tight coupling, no automated testing, no automated build or deployment pipelines, etc.).You reach a point...

My current pick of the crop: https://www.netlifycms.org/

I have no affiliation with Netlify, just my perceived benefits of Netlify CMS:

* Open source

* Static site generator agnostic

* Host the editor UI yourself

* No vendor lock-in

* Git based

P.S. These are all part of the https://jamstack.org/ movement.

Instead of trying to make brute force more costly, couldn't these services make it impossible, by forcing the fulfilment of a CAPTCHA when trying to expand/follow a shortened URL?
