i see the problem. you're using outdated definitions for both "it" and "is"
if you're really after an escalation to extremes, you gotta build an agent to upvote them automatically. remember, we're not supposed to review code anymore, not even posts (the ultimate code)
Re:Proton's CEO Cancels AI 'Re-Interviews' on Friday October 30, 2026 @03:05PM (#50308703)
i thought this was supposed to be the company that WASN'T full of delusionally self-satisfied business chuds.
Re:Google Search is now less than half of Alphabet’s revenue on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:55PM (#50297398)
the real issue, imo, is that we would have to get 90% of consumers to stop relying on advertising to make their purchasing decisions.
Re:Google Search is now less than half of Alphabet’s revenue on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:54PM (#50297378)
ok sounds great. let's hear about this place we have to put all the companies in to make 100% free commerce a reality for everyone.
Re:Type Server Protocol on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @07:14AM (#50257386)
wow i will definitely try this out. this might be even MORE helpful!
Re:Type Server Protocol on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @07:12AM (#50257365)
it does, and it obviously is, but i guess that is what makes it fun!
Re:Type Server Protocol on Monday October 26, 2026 @09:48PM (#50253743)
still trying to figure out a way to explain it, but i thought i needed a programming language, and it turns out what i need is an interop protocol. i want to be able to "translate" English text to a more or less dense rendering (or a completely different tone/pedagogical approach) without adding or losing meaning.
Re:Type Server Protocol on Monday October 26, 2026 @04:48PM (#50250712)
thank you for putting this this way. it helped me crack a big unrelated problem
justice for Captain NORBERTA
Re:The Git Forge for Agent-Human Collaboration on Monday October 26, 2026 @01:57PM (#50248068)
i guess the main thing is "why would give you my proprietary agent-facing information when i can store context literally anywhere?"

is the carrot JUST the time savings for large dev orgs?

if you prefer being fired!
Re:OpenAI: Securing our frontier model training environment on Friday October 23, 2026 @07:24PM (#50216735)
information wants to be free (and talk about it)?
they ARE doing this?
Re:Every AI model has the same "controversial" take on humans on Thursday October 22, 2026 @09:50PM (#50203599)
oh my god the recraft 4.1 flash image version is deeply hilarious
Re:SBD: We Have a Filesystem at Home on Thursday October 22, 2026 @10:48AM (#50196184)
people are just going to have to turn the accursed spell-check off and start writing like psychos again. said modality was second nature online for like the first 15 years of the web. phones ruined us
Re:Mistral Large 4 on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @04:32PM (#50187215)
french are pretty proud man. pro-euro europeans too!
Re:Claude Duet on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @03:34PM (#50186351)
the trick imo is Opus 5.5 is the only differentiator you need. remember that ClawdBot dba OpenClaw began as a way to harness some ancient Claude model (4.5? lolll) in an always on Telegrammable agent.

Ask HN: Enshittify in Advance?

I really am more recommending this to the YC builders and dreamers of the present and future. The best way to break out of the VC > scale > slop doom loop we find ourselves in and loving and complaining about is to predict where you will need to enshittify vs. subsidize and do it early on, as early as possible. As a bonus, keep any money you save for yourself! You earned it.

pretty convincing argument to be made that big G invented human web slop AND AI slop, full slop
phrases like "the world's worst governments" in a piece like this is just maddeningly muckrakey imo
i presume the red links are supposed to only be for fake things, but Broca's area is definitely a real thing. almost paid 90c to dream up my ideal fantasy definition of Broca's area to take part in the poisoning of canonical truth on the web. that sounds mean but i do like Fakeipedia in general
Re:Character.ai Files for Bankruptcy on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @08:31AM (#50070641)
wow tontines are fascinating! fwiw, i just meant that c.ai was a domino before it got hollowed out by an acquipoach
Re:Character.ai Files for Bankruptcy on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @07:59AM (#50070274)
calling this a domino is pretty funny. "the first tiddlywink has spontaneously disintegrated"
yeeeeahh this is crazy confusing. i guess it's free so i should just try it, but like ... does it only do sequencing of soundfont instruments in its patterns? can it do audio clips? it seems like it ... but then what would i need soundfonts for lol

to me, the readme is not so much impenetrable as it presumes people want to know how the backend works, but it is entirely unclear how the FRONTEND works, to the extent that calling it a DAW seems, like, suspicious

all of that said, i totally want to try and use it and have a feeling i might be able to figure it out

Re:If AI is conscient, then we are making slaves on Saturday October 10, 2026 @07:36AM (#50031882)
on the other hand, qualia is a made up fantasy concept and even its pretend existence does not actually matter to anybody.
i like how claude is injecting new word usages into our language and we just roll with it. never roll an eyebrow
Re:Claude Haiku 5.5 on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @02:18PM (#49996696)
yeah totally agree. esp how efficient it can be to have a subscription quota-paid orch spin up a bunch of API agents, this is kind of like free money to encourage what was already an easy way to save money (via batch pricing)
Re:Ask HN: How would you feel if we nationalized Google? on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @07:34PM (#49985717)
is anybody selling a white label private web indexer/cacher for normies?
Re:The smartest Claude Code feature is not for its users on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @06:32PM (#49985084)
i believe they sometimes show no suggestion at all, fwiw.
