The internet may have had some consequences
can you expand on that? sounds really interesting
Anyone else find the idea of using aborted fetal cells unsettling? There's just something really strange about it. I would 1000% be on board if there was some way to synthesize it artificially.

I'd be interested to—at the very least—discuss, sounds interesting. How can I reach you?

I'm making a pretty interesting digital graffiti web app and I'd love some help. I'm proficient with django, and I'm learning some computer vision stuff on the side to supplement the project. I've fleshed it out, but honestly I need some help with the operations and planning.

If you're interested I can hop into a google meet just about any time this week. Leave a comment and I'll email you in like 40 minutes.

Re:Ask HN: Have you had Covid? How bad was it? on Friday December 24, 2021 @12:20AM (#29670533)
unvaccinated, 20s. high fever, loss of taste for a couple days. took a bunch of vitamin c, vitamin d and zinc. went away in a week.

purely anecdotal but this was a far cry from the winter of death I was promised.

Ask HN: Advice for generating and reading from a picture (similar to a qr code)

I'm trying to design something similar to a qr code from scratch. I've got some ideas on how I can anchor and fill in binary data into the graphic design but I'm a bit unsure as to how I should approach the reading/decoding part (with a camera).Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this.QR codes have been around for a while. I like the way facebook messanger or snapcodes approach the task...

Re:The Covid lab-leak theory goes mainstream on Saturday May 15, 2021 @05:23PM (#27169149)
I agree, seems like it got memory-holed, or at least lumped as tinfoil-hat bs

I think the average age is 11 for boys, that means half are under 11 when they first encounter pornography...

also read somewhere that sexual assault perpetration is occurring at younger ages.

I'm no economist, but I'm pretty sure this just out prices small businesses. Bigger businesses can take the strain and get some great PR.

It's not about "sheltering" children from the trials and tribulations of real life, what they have access to is manipulative and unhealthy.

Curious what your opinions are on the epidemic of pornography use in young children.

Man, I love libgen. Will be completely lost if it ever shuts down.

Anyone else use it to download books onto your kindle??

I might be duct taping two buzzwords but could GMO mosquitoes carry mrna packages???
Re:Why blockchains won't revolutionize publishing on Wednesday April 21, 2021 @05:18PM (#26895575)
I'm not familiar with any of this stuff other than surface level reading.

Can you expand on use cases? Just interested

I love this site, use it all the time.

Also I know it goes without saying but goodreads lists are great for this sort of thing too.

Re:Introduction to Machine Learning for Finance on Monday April 19, 2021 @11:07PM (#26870274)
Anyone have any good books I can read to learn a bit more about this sort of application? I really like the finance stuff, feels like a natural marriage with DS and ML.

I don't know nearly enough to expand on what I mean.
