you can torture the logic further:

let x : Something = outer_conditional ? baz() : conditional ? foo() : bar()

I think this can look pretty nice, properly formatted:

    let x = conditional1 ? bar() :
            conditional2 ? baz() :
            conditional3 ? quux() :
            someDefault
