To add to that, I don't think that having children precludes entrepreneurship or taking risks. There are plenty of counter-examples.
While kids are indeed an added financial responsibility (though when they're young, they don't require much), they can also help turn you into a more disciplined worker who makes more efficient use of the free time that they do have.
