The point (apparently) is to slowly reinvent OpenGL on web, since no one has (yet) added it to Javascript.

And the point of OpenGL on the web would be?

Does it really help convey information or enhance the user experience at all? Or perhaps it just more glitz which will be abused (like flash banner adverts)?
