Hydro power is proven economical, but it can be, approximately, tripled worldwide IF you displace tens of millions of people. In North America only small increments can be added.

Sure sure, but I'm not promoting its further use. The point being, to get to 100% solar you'd have to abandon it!

Hydro is solar power. How else does the water gets back to the top of the stream? :)
