Buckminster is a good old New England last name; a Joseph Buckminster gave the Phi Beta Kappa address at Harvard in 1802 (see Adams's history of the US 1800-1816). I can't imagine that Fuller's first name hindered him any more than (say) Kingman Brewster's hindered him.
