This was first submitted about 30 min ago and then was flagged to death after reaching the front page and ultimately the number 1 spot on HN: https://www.dropbox.com/s/brz84r1vs05mvk3/2013-11-23%2008.21...

Thank you mmariani for re-submitting.

You're welcome! I clicked on this moments before it vanished from the front page. I don't see why people flagged this video as this is not about politics. It's about freedom.

Matt Damon summarises with a very short and compelling speech why the system is so deeply fucked up and how we can change it.

Spread the word.

The same people will flag again.

Well you were correct (not that I didn't think it would happen) this post made it into the top 10 or so on the front page before it was flagged off, not dead yet but it probably won't be much longer.

Edit: I might have spoke too soon, it's back on the front page at position 6 now - https://www.dropbox.com/s/hf81jlkysrm7kql/2013-11-23%2008.58...

I write free software for selfish reasons--I want powerful software as Paul Graham defines it.

That powerful software amplifies thought is a side benefit. The more I (or groups) get together to think important thoughts, the more we can creatively destroy the parts of the system we don't like, and create systems we do.

I think there are real consequences of powerful software (more broadly, powerful computation); and I try to keep systemic consequences in mind as I write software.
