Technical trading is not nonsense - Paul Tudor Jones and many others have made a lot of money from it.

The parts of it that are not nonsense are common sense. See 'Evidence Based Technical Analysis' by Aronson. Conclusion of the book: it doesn't work in a way you can make money from.
