there is plenty apache does that nginx doesn't do. Also, as stated in another comment, apache can do reverse or forward proxying.

Anyone trying to argue for nginx on the basis of better feature support (over apache) is blind to the reality of things.

NginX can act as a caching proxy with less overhead and faster response times than Apache does, and even more so under heavy load.
