I'm glad McGinn criticizes Kurzweil's use of anthropomorphic language. I'm only in CH 3 and have been waiting for him to translate his friendly, talking recognizers back into neuroscience.

Also bothersome is Kurzweil's repeated but unacknowledged use of Chomsky's ideas about recursion in language.
