I am not a terminal head, but I find it simpler to drop into a dir and codex from there. In the GUIs, I often mistakenly end up under the wrong tab (Chat/Work/Code) and if I am in Chat, sooner or later the thing will ask me to switch to Work. On the other hand, the GUI provides the history of threads. I semi defeated this by using hooks to write questions and answers to an SQLite db.
