Technologies: Deep Ruby/Rails (9+ yrs core, every major background job system, legacy upgrades, scaling). Postgres, Redis/Valkey, AWS/GCP/Render/Heroku, Docker/k8s, Stripe/PCI, LLMs, API integrations. Also shipped Python, Go, JS/Stimulus, and RPG/CL/SEQUEL on iSeries (yes, really).
Staff+ engineer and hands-on leader, 20+ years technology experience. Infrastructure leaning product engineer. Legacy rescue to greenfield, payments, LLMs in production. Equally at home with customers and clients as with code. A few months into every job, I'm the first call when production is on fire. Most recently Head of Engineering at an early-stage startup. Looking for Staff/Principal or player-coach EM roles, full-time or contract.
