As a proton customer myself, I've changed email providers before, and it isn't easy.

When I recommend for someone to try proton, I recommend they do so with a custom domain for their email address.

That way, if something goes awry at proton, they can set up service elsewhere while keeping their same email address.

This a thousand times. Having your own domain makes all kinds of migrations easier. My blog had 3 providers, my emails have 2. It still works without a hiccup.

If something happens? I'm ready to pack bags and migrate again.
