I am noticing the same thing at work, in software development. First, it's a lot of "Holy crap, Fable just saved us 10% of RAM usage across all our apps!", then it's becomes "we're not looking for as many junior developers", and soon it will be "no one really knows what this code does, except for the AI".

Soon no one uses it either and most places close up shop.
