This is very impressive! How did you manage such level of detail on the paintings? Is there a public library we could access if we want to make something open source and free? Btw, it would be great to see a museum of Paul Gauguin next!

Thank you! The paintings are public domain photos, mostly from Wikimedia Commons, hung at their real size. Our code is open source too: github.com/chipmates/museumofages. Gauguin is a nice idea, noted.
