There’s some great programs that already teach people to be effective teachers, but that’s a tiny portion of what makes a great teacher.

You can’t just give a lecture, you need to juggle that lecture while paying attention to a class, and be able to respond to the students, and take notes on how to improve. That’s a cognitive load that most people are simply incapable of keeping up even beyond questions of motivation.
