I find not having user accounts drastically reduces how much the iPad gets used in my house. In my case, I'm sure this affects sales in the app store.

Maybe this is cynical of me, but I think the preferred solution (from Apple's perspective) is to buy more iPads.

The sale of one iPad makes up for a LOT of lost sales in the app store. I'm sure it doesn't bother them yet.
