Yeah, pretty much. I'm not sure why this debate is even still coming up; It's been "solved" by a half-dozen grid frameworks.

The other issue is that people trying to get these pixel-perfect layouts need to rethink their strategy. Its a hypermedia document, stop trying to make it look like a printed page or a magazine ad.
