Not to mention, if you just keep all your to do lists on note cards in your wallet with something like this [1] or this [2], you're in good shape, unless you leave your wallet in another pair of jeans. They even sell a little set of bleachers [3] to keep the cards organized on your desk.
I find having a task or a project on a card is nice. You can set it up over your screen like a short order cook's ticket to remind you what you are working on [4].

If my phone isn't in my hand, it's in my pants. If I'm not wearing pants, it's on the end-table of my bed, where I assumably am as well. So yes.
Limited availability. You don't always have a pad of paper with you to write new things.
So they're saying you always have a phone with you?
Not ubiquitous. If you leave a piece of paper in one pair of jeans, you can't access it from the other jeans you're currently wearing.
On the other hand, the entry level for paper is much cheaper than the entry level for a device that uses Gmail.
Difficult to organize. Eventually turns into a giant mess on your desk.
I think if you have as many Gmail notes as you have paper notes, you'll get just as big a mess. The fact that Gmail isn't as messy is a testament to the fact that I can't doodle, can't quickly sketch out a melody to a song, or anything similar.
