As you say, neither side is close to clean.

A strong rich country tacitly/actively allowing and protecting illegal settlements and Israeli citizen's violence, land theft, and worse against the Palestinians they encroached on, doesn't leave them a moral high ground. It puts them on par with Hamas vile crimes against Israeli civilians.

Which makes the genocidal starvation of an entire country's population of civilians even less acceptable. (If that is even possible).
