X is wildly popular. Moreover, it's long come to serve diplomatic and State communication functions. People are still talking about it for those reasons, including yourself and its niche detractors. Many who won't ever deactivate their accounts. Again, because X is the most popular platform of its kind.
Unpopular things aren't spoken about at all. This is exactly how it works. I sincerely and joyfully encourage you to keep thinking about X, and to keep telling the World about how X is "absolutely cooked".

I talk about MySpace and Digg regularly, they are unpopular, and they are the exact thing happening here.
I think we're in the interregnum period between X and whatever picks up the crown.

Those aren't remotely comparable platforms.
There isn't anything that currently exists to "pick up the crown" which itself doesn't identify in-full as a reaction to X.
There's nothing in the human social-sphere that has become dominant by defining itself as a reaction to something else.
That's first assuming that it'd overcome the second-to-market popularity issue.
It'll make for some interesting stories a decade from now when we'll all reminisce about "remember how Musk fucked Twitter? Oh shit, is it still running?"
