Re:Michigan has 8.4M registered voters, only 8M residents by DemocracyFTW2 on Wednesday October 23, 2024 @04:09AM (#41922887)
This is getting ridiculous:

"The population of Michigan in 2023 was 10,037,261, a 0.04% increase from 2022."—https://www.macrotrends.net/global-metrics/states/michigan/p...

"Michigan is the third-most populous state in the Midwestern United States, with a population of 10,077,331 according to the 2020 United States census."—https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Michigan

This is only in response to the editorialized headline used here, I'm not saying anything about the linked article.

given that the population of michigan is 10M (and was last 8M in 1963) I don't believe either of those numbers.

"The state currently has 8.4 million registered voters, according to the latest records obtained by Bridge Michigan, nearly 500,000 more than the number of people in the state who are old enough to vote."
