Every technology that can be weaponized has been weaponized. Unless we recognize and fix the problems associated with the human condition, we are heading towards a dangerous future.

The human condition is the human condition, in that for as long as we are human, it will never be any other way. This is why our demise is inevitable, and likely to be by our own hand. Greed will always exist, and human ingenuity will never be stopped. The result is an asymptotic approach to certain doom. This is why I think the "Great Filter" explanation for the Fermi Paradox is the most likely.
