Most software installs would fail and then I had to Google commands to install dependencies, fix configs and yadayada. Everything froze at least 2 days a week.
The issues weren't exclusive to me, the whole class had the same experience and we shared with each other workarounds. We even installed extensions to "Windify" or experience, such as making the toolbar be attached to the bottom instead of left. It was cute.
I remember we also got addicted to "Mari0" from the Ubuntu store, and somebody got caught playing it. RIP.
In a nutshell, the problem with Linux is that I'm constantly reminded that I'm using it. With Windows, I even forget I'm in Windows, I just feel like I'm using the programs inside.
Also, I'm "still using" Linux nowadays. I use Ubuntu Server for... servers. No problem with it since I just set up a CI/DI pipeline and I don't have to touch it again, everything is handled with external software.
