The Altantic's article is just a revisionism psyop and a misappropriation of the term Techno Authoritarianism because there has been a recent rise in discussions about vendor backdoor rootkit jailbreaks that NSA/CIA have forced Silicon Valley to build into it's tech.
The phenomena The Atlatic is describing is Technocracy. Techno Authoritarianism is much more insidious.
Government mandated Vendor Backdoor Rootkit Jailbreak Mass-Surveillance & Techno Authoritarianism is market interference that is destroying consumer confidence in Silicon Valley originated tech and is going to cause GFC-scale market failure. We need to remove these things before the bubble bursts.
