The only one on the list that I heard good things about is ueli, but I haven't tried it myself

But I don't need a lot of alternatives, just the better ones (for example, Ueli is that crazed example of using the whole browser for an app launcher)

I'm just saying that you should look up and compare the alternatives yourself if you don't like ueli, no need to cry about it.
