Because this guy has a finished prototype ready for production, as opposed to all the other game projects that don't even have something designed?

To me, $50 for a custom cartridge sounds like a great deal. That's the magic of kickstarter - they don't all have to be million dollar deals to be worthwhile for people on both sides of the transaction.
