I've never seen a coming clean story. But this has been going on at every scale for decades.
The scientific method isn't broken but the institutions that surround it and the people riding the tops of it tend to be. It'd be easy to fix but you'd instantly make a million high power enemies with psychopathic tendencies. Oh well.
