Does Firefox really have any choice?
Who pays the bills at Firefox? Google does.
Down where the rubber meets the road, it follows Chrome in the way that matters most to Google --- it refuses to implement strong privacy protections. And from a user perspective, this makes it no better than Chrome and may well explain why it's global market share has fallen below Opera.
