I ended up going to Belfast the weekend of the bonfires without knowing beforehand--was a totally surreal experience. The largest man-made fires I'd ever seen right in the middle of the city streets, armored cars driving around, not many safety protocols. Some kids gave me buckfast and asked if I wanted to climb to the top of one that had to be about 100 feet high (I didn't).

I would definitely recommend checking it out to anyone that can.
