They don't even necessarily need to sell at a loss. They can also just get economies of scale that don't work for tiny local businesses.

Still has the same effect in the end.

Or they sell "the same" (looks the same but it's lower quality) product as other stores but at a lower price, as a Walmart -exclusive.
