Uhoh!

Guess we aren't getting the message! So job seekers, oh it was so easy!

Yeah, this my young kin is the dot com 3.0 bust!/ YUP! you be living in it!

Except, you never lived in the dot com bust so you dont how bad it was. I would say that its worse now, except that the "industry" hired so many people who cant code in the last 20 years that, its probably about equal, except that those laid off people now, weren't the savvy people back then.

The millennials that are being laid off now are completely clueless, should have never been hired and never did much anyway. Back in the dot com bust people who were skating into "big" tech were mostly real estate agents or con artists of some flavor or another.

But unlike the current millennial flakes, they knew how to take a punch and were already established. This will take down alot of millennials thankfully since they were mostly window dressing and maybe they can get a foothold in something meaningful in their lives.

I find it fascinating yet sad that some people have such adverse opinions toward whole generations, essentially. Why such animosity?

Media influence; note their concentration on millennials specifically. The media loves to obsess over the misdeeds of the terrible millennials and boomers. My personal theory to explain this is that ~everyone currently in a position of editorial power in media is gen X; note that the media never mentions gen X.

However, change is coming, as the gen Xes will start aging out soon. Within about a decade, expect the media to be decrying the villainous gen Xes and Zeds, as the top editorial jobs go millennial.
