As far as "hidden agendas" go, Google's history of being a bad actor cost them the benefit of the doubt a long time ago. You're proposing something insidious to which there is no middle ground. There is no reasonable response beyond: hell no. Perhaps it's time to revisit AMP and all the ways in which it's enshittified the internet.
Quite frankly if you're getting this much bad press and nearly universal criticism it's time to take a long hard look in the mirror instead of casting aspersions and making disingenuous pleas for cooperation.
