Ah yes, we need massaged facts and figures and statistics to tell us whether or not our emotions have any validity.
Just how inflation really isn't that bad, because of hedonic adjustment -- people can always adjust to buying lower goods and services. 24 pack of ramen is $6, enough to feed you for 3 days, but too expensive for your meager paycheck? Just buy 45lbs of peanut butter for $160 -- that'll last you 4 and a half months. That's $40 in savings!
We're meeting corporate's KPIs and have beat our all-time sales record; share prices are near all-time highs. Well then why are we being driven like cattle?
Surely, because we can sit in an air-conditioned home office with our Aeron chairs and our thousands of dollars sand-thinking-machine -- surely things must be alright? Surely, it's the People that are wrong. Must be the increase in mental illness diagnoses: people just don't know how to live anymore. They can't self-regulate and adapt to their environments. A mere confounding variable, citizen.
Do not fret. We at [Multi-national, publicly-traded consulting and market research firm, generating $2B in revenues] got you covered.
